Breaking up the dynasty, one piece at a time.

Well, not really.

Geoff Blum, the White Sox's sole mid-season acquisition in 2005, has signed a one-year deal with his old team the Padres. Which comes as almost no surprise at all, considering that Blum's sole accomplishment with the White Sox was his 14th inning solo home run off of Ezequiel Astacio that put the White Sox ahead for good in the longest World Series game ever played. I mean, yeah, that's a pretty big "sole" accomplishment and all, so it's been great knowing you, Geoff, and best of luck in S.D.
